The history of classical music has been characterised by multifaceted cultural influences throughout the centuries. Composers such as Georg. F Händel or Kurt Weill left or had to leave their home country for various reasons. Their cultural encounters with other countries and traditions have flowed into their compositions. Kurt Weill's song Youkali is a melancholy portrayal of human longing. Youkali stands for an imaginary land of wishes and hope.

Hanoi Brass Community's brass recital, through a musical kaleidoscope spanning entire centuries and often wildly contrasting styles, seeks to offer a refreshing listening experience that mirrors the way art reflects changing times. At the same time, themes of longing and searching that connect all human beings can be experienced musically.

Hanoi Brass Community
Was created in 2020 as a playground for brass lovers in general. Hanoi Brass Community contains of Brass players from different countries who live in Hanoi and have come together to practice and give concerts. 19 musicians and (so far) one female musician from the Hanoi Brass Community are currently also playing in different formations and orchestras like the Vietnam national symphony Orchestra (VNSO), Vietnam Youth Orchestra (VYO) or Sun Symphony Orchetra.
