In this modern world, the thing that people often complain that they lack is TIME. Parents do not have enough time for their kids. Friends are so busy that they meet each other less and less. Especially, they do not even have time for themselves, doing their hobbies, taking care of their health... Why?
Momo is a modern fairytale written by a German author in which the fight between good and evil and the contemporary society, in which because of the wish for material stability doesn't give anyone time to take care of him/herself and another person, is being shown. Momo is a good listener who simply stays still and listens to people. That makes everybody feel good again and find solutions to their problems themselves. She helps people around her to fight against the grey men who by making people work more, steal their time.
'Since Momo came to stay, they have had more fun than ever. No more boring moments. Not because Momo has good suggestions. No, just because Momo played with them, that's all. That's why - and I don't know why - the kids come up with the best ideas'.
It is the question of learning what we really need and care about; and how to better take care of our own well-being.
In collaboration with Nha Nam Publishing House, the Goethe-Institut Hanoi presents the book ‘Momo’ by a German author, Michael Ende and offers an open space for a talk on “Your time – Your life”. It is a chance for parents and children to join together and reflect on their needs and commitment to each other.
