The episodic film tells the story of Maryam, Samir and Ismail, three young Muslims in Berlin, whose values and faith are shaken in the course of their stories. Three people whom life forces to reorient themselves and ask themselves who they are, whom they love and what they believe in. Their paths cross at the mosque of Vedat, an enlightened Islamic cleric. Maryam is Vedat's daughter - a fun-loving and very Western-oriented girl. Because of her permissive nature, she often clashes with her single father, who is very concerned about the 19-year-old's lifestyle. Not entirely without reason, because Maryam has become pregnant unintentionally. Samir, a Nigerian, attends Vedat's Koran classes with his best friend Daniel, a German. It quickly becomes clear that Daniel sees more in Samir than just a friend.
