ACUD Theater

Together with the children and young people Shir Khan Ahmadzai and Mohamad Karim Asir will fill the Sunday with workshops and games. In the first workshop, they will work together with the children to make figures for paper theater, which will then be used to perform small scenes on the stage of the ACUD Theater. In the following circus workshop, the children will learn juggling and Afghan children's games. The circus workshop will take place, weather permitting, in Weinberg Park across the street from Kunsthaus ACUD.

Shir Khan Ahmadzai was born in Kunduz, Afghanistan, in 1981. He holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from Kabul University. Shir Khan has many years of professional experience in children's circus and was also a writer, producer and host of Ta Khana Bala Khana - a television program for children on Arezu Television. He was awarded the best producer and presenter of children's television programs by NAI - Supporting Open Media in Afghanistan.

Mohammad Karim Asir (born in 1994) is an actor and puppeteer from Afghanistan. Most people there know him as the Afghan Charlie Chaplin. Asir graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in theater and has a master's degree in performance arts from Kabul University. He wanted to use his theater education to address social problems in Afghanistan. So he began a career as a Charlie Chaplin impersonator in public and private venues, including the streets of Kabul, public parks, private parties, charity events, and an orphanage. When he received a threatening letter from the Taliban about his activities in July 2021, and after the Taliban took power in August 2021, he fled to Germany and now lives in Bochum.
