Torn from their carefree childhood games, nine young Afghans surrender to the decisions of their parents. They are not left with a choice about their own future. All they can take with them on their way to Europe from their entire lives so far is what fits into a backpack. But even in dark times, hope can be found. With dance, poetry and theatre, the actors tell their stories and, bit by bit, regain power over their own narratives.
