"Living in a quantum state" at re:publica
In this video, Dr. Jasmin Meinecke (Max-Planck-Institute of Quantum Optics) gives an introduction to quantum technologies and Dr. Libby Heaney offers a deep-dive into artistic and ethical responses to groundbreaking advances in quantum computing.
The session was moderated by Professor Jens Eisert (Freie Universität Berlin) and was organised in collaboration with Munich Quantum Valley.
We were proud to support "Evolution of Ent-:QX", a video installation by an artist and quantum physicist Libby Heaney, at re:publica 2022. This surreal science fiction story entices viewers into the world of quantum computing and speculates about the future of quantum technologies and art. Libby Heaney is the first artist to use quantum computing as a functioning artistic media and has created part of this work using quantum computing. "Evolution of Ent-:QX" is an extension of Heaney's exhibition "Ent-", which was first shown earlier this year in collaboration with Light Art Space, in Berlin’s Schering Stiftung. The "Evolution of Ent-:QX" was originally commissioned by arebyte Gallery in London.
