Travel Information
You can bring your child to and from the course location or use our transfer service if your child is travelling to and from Munich Airport. Please inform us of your child's travel plans up to eight weeks before the start of the course.
From 10 January 2025, a form for your children's travel information will be available here.
Supervised transfer from Munich airport
A transfer service between Munich airport (MUC) and the course location in Stein will be offered from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the official arrival and departure days (waiting times may be involved). One of our employees will be waiting at the transit area exit in the arrivals hall to greet the children when they arrive. He/she will be carrying a Goethe-Institut sign and will have identification. For organisational reasons, we cannot tell you the name of the employee until three days before the start of the course, at the earliest.
On the departure day, we will accompany your child as far as the airport check-in.
In the event of the flight being delayed, please note that a transfer outside the official transfer times will not be possible.
Arrival and departure outside of the scheduled dates
If you are not able to arrive or depart on the scheduled dates, please plan to arrive on the day after the course starts and leave on the day before the end of the course. Our staff cannot offer transfers or guarantee that you will be looked after before or after the course. There is also no catering available in the boarding school during this time.
Leisure Programme
With our varied and action-packed leisure programme, boredom doesn’t stand a chance. Every day after classes our team of counselors offers a wide range of sports as well as creative, musical or cultural activities, for example: arts workshop, badminton, barbecues, basketball, beach volleyball, billiards, disco nights, fitness room, foosball, gymnasium, hiking, movie nights, music room with piano, sports field, soccer, rowing, swimming (lake, outdoor pool), table tennis, tennis, volleyball, Internet.*
Our team organizes two day excursions.
We are also happy to accommodate special requests from our young guests whenever possible, provided that sufficient numbers of participants are interested.
*Activities representing an increased risk to individuals or groups (e.g. visits of amusement parks, toboggan runs, bouldering, rafting, climbing etc.) or exposure of liability for the Goethe-Institut and the participants of the event are not offered.
Accomodation
The boarding school is housed in a castle originally built in 1565 that has been redesigned in neogothic style and was recently refurbished.
The teenagers are accommodated in shared rooms. Shower, bathroom and toilet are either directly in the rooms or in the hallway very close to the rooms. Boys and girls are accommodated separately. Bedclothes and towels are provided by the Goethe-Institut and are changed during the course. When assigning rooms we try whenever possible to assign roommates who speak different native languages.
At every course location we expect 60 to 100 young people from about 20 different countries.

The telephone will not be manned round the clock. It may be possible to leave a message (also per e-mail) asking for your son/daughter to ring you back or to wait for your call at a specified time in the office.
Please help make the process of getting acquainted with new surroundings easier for your child by abstaining from daily phone-calls or visits. Please do not arrange to take your child out for trips during the course either. Naturally, you can phone the office and enquire after your child or else leave a message (e-mail is available too).
