Comic Interview
Isabel Kreitz on inspiration, protest – and France
Tokyo in the 1940s, St. Pauli in the post-War period, present-day Berlin: Isabel Kreitz’ illustrations transport viewers into different worlds and yet are highly modern. On the occasion of the Frankfurt Book Fair, in our interview she answers questions on her work and on France, the fair’s guest country.
Isabel Kreitz studied at the University of Applied Sciences Europe in Hamburg and at the New York Parsons School of Design. She creates graphic novels, illustrates children’s books and has among others narrated Uwe Timm’s bestselling novel “Die Entdeckung der Currywurst” (“The Invention of Curried Sausage”) in pictures.
