Exchange2Change
Alumni Edition

Welcome to the Exchange2Change Alumni Edition, a unique opportunity for alumni from our Exchange2Change and Young Goethe Ambassador programmes to meet other fellow participants and develop a project together during a week’s stay in London and in other cities in the UK.

Are you an alumnus/alumna of Exchange2Change or a Young Goethe Ambassador? Would you like to meet other fellow participants from the UK and from Germany? If so, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

Eine Gruppe junger Menschen auf einem öffentlichen Platz

This is how it works

Exchange2Change Alumni Edition is designed for those wanting to take on leadership roles and inspire future participants. After registering, the applicants will form project groups and develop a project idea together which will then be submitted as a group application. The successful groups will be invited to an in-person week in London where the projects can be realised. A tournee to different schools across the UK where the projects will be presented marks the end of the exchange. Highlights include team and sightseeing activities, workshops, and plenty of time to meet and exchange ideas with the other participants from the UK and from Germany.

Timeline

  • Phase I: Registration (until 7th April 2025)
Register your interest for the programme. Filling in the form only takes 10 minutes. You will be asked to confirm that you can attend both the online matching event (8th April 2025) and the in-person programme in London and other parts of the UK (29th August – 6th September 2025)
  • Phase II: Online Matching Event (8th April 2025)
All applicants will be invited to an Online Matching Event. There, you will meet the other applicants, form project groups and discuss potential project ideas.
  • Phase III: Online Project Development
During this phase, the project groups develop their projects independently and online. Each project group consists of participants from both the UK and Germany. The aim is to develop a 1-2 hour workshop which can be presented to school groups in the UK. It has to include elements of language/German learning, interactive components and may include topics and creative elements of your choice. To support the project development, the Goethe-Institut will offer drop-in support sessions. All project outlines have to be submitted as a group application by 1st June 2025.
  • Phase IV: Selection of participants and online workshops
    (2nd June – 28th August 2025)

The successful groups will be notified. They will be invited to take part in online workshops and language courses to develop their projects further and to gain the necessary skills to deliver a workshop in front of a school class.
  • Phase V: In-Person Exchange (28th August – 6th September)
The successful groups will be invited to 5 days of project work, rehearsals, teambuilding and sightseeing in London and 2-3 day's tournee to different schools across the UK to deliver their workshops.
All participants will receive a certificate upon completion of the programme.
