In celebration of this summer’s UEFA Euro 2020 tournament, Mingalaba and the Goethe-Institut London are teaming up to launch an exciting “Fantasy Football” activity in German for primary and secondary pupils.

While 24 countries compete on the pitch to become the champions of Europe, we will be challenging pupils to build an all-star "Fantasy Football" team in German. Using a range of vocabulary and structures, pupils will build a team and score points based on their chosen players' real-life performance at Euro 2020.

Keen to implement this into your german classroom?

Teaching materials have been developed by Steve Eadon, Founder & CEO of Mingalaba, a new organisation established following the closing of Arsenal Double Club.

Don't worry, there are plenty of hints and tips for non-football fans!

Watch Steve explain in greater detail how to implement the resources into your German classroom.
The following recording was taken of our online launch event in May 2021. Please note that the deadline to enter the Fantasy Football competition organised by the Goethe-Institut London has closed, but we hope that you will be able to enjoy running a similar competition independently with your pupils.
