Join us for a film talk with Nicola Alice Hens, the director of the film "Chichinette", hosted by Dora Osborne.

Nicola Alice Hens is camerawoman, filmmaker and lecturer. She studied at the Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie Berlin, the Bauhaus-University in Weimar and the Academy of Arts Toulouse, France.

Since 2015 she teaches the international Masters course in Media Art at the University of Weimar and works parallel as camerawoman and editor as well as developing her own subject with a specific interest in unconventional storytelling.

The partially animated documentary "Chichinette - How I accidentally became a spy" is her feature film debut.

About the film
The film tells the untold story of a French Jewish spy, Marthe Cohn - aka Chichinette. After keeping silent for almost 60 years, she shares her extraordinary story of a 4.5 feet high woman who managed to beat the odds and fight the Nazis as a spy. At the age of nearly 100, she tours the world, promoting her message to people of all generations.

The film "Chichinette" will be accessible for streaming from the 7.12. until the 9.12.2020.

The film talk is free but we would like to ask you to book a ticket on the website of the Byre Theatre. You will also receive there the link and password for the film.

The filmscreening is in collaboration with the Alliance Française Glasgow and the Institut Français Ecosse.
