Crafting with books: a workshop for children

Join us for a one-hour workshop with artist Elspeth Chapman as we craft new creations out of old books from our library. We’ll be creating artwork with some simple folding and cutting – and at the end of the session you’ll be able to take home your origami and folded book decorations!

The workshop is aimed at 9 – 12 year olds. 

About the artist

Elspeth Chapman is a designer, puppeteer and facilitator based in Edinburgh. She loves to support the creativity of children and young people and is often inspired by their imaginations. Elspeth has worked for the Royal Lyceum Theatre, Lyra, North Edinburgh Arts, Imaginate, Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity, Puppet Animation Scotland and the Edinburgh International Book Festival. She is passionate about using the arts to improve mental health and is currently studying for an MSc in Art Psychotherapy.
