Trilingual Edit-A-Thon on contemporary women writers from Germany, France, and Scotland.

Goethe-Institut Glasgow

Have you ever looked for a topic on Wikipedia and could not find it? Statistically, the vast majority of content on the world’s most widely used free source of knowledge is generated by male authors. This reflects directly on the representation of topics covered.

On occasion of International Women’s Day coming up on March 8, we want to change that!

Join us for a trilingual Edit-A-Thon on contemporary women writers from Germany, France, and Scotland, and help to expand information on their work on the German, French, and English Wikipedia.

No previous knowledge is needed – participants will get a technical introduction on working with Wikipedia by Sara Thomas from Wikimedia UK, and can work on authors of their choice in either English, French, and/or German. Whether you are an English speaker interested in the topic or want to practice your skills in German or French as well – if you are passionate about knowledge sharing, this event is for you! Who knows? You might get to discover some great new authors along the way!
Guests are invited to bring their own Laptops and dinner treats and drinks in a warm and friendly atmosphere will be offered!

If you would like to join us for the event, please register through Eventbrite and we will contact you with more information. The registration deadline is 04.03.2024.
