Information sessions for the first public call for Innovation project grants within the Innovation. Media. Minds. Program: EU Support to Public Service Journalism in the Western Balkans were held over the course of the past month. The Program is implemented by the Goethe-Institut on behalf of the European Commission, with its implementing partner DW Academy.
Representatives of public media services from the Western Balkans that signed Memorandums of Understanding, attended joint and individual sessions from 19 June to 3 July 2024. The sessions were designed to support potential applicants in preparing project proposals by providing additional information and guidelines, and presenting project ideas in line with the call's requirements.
The EU’s Innovation. Media. Minds Program is supporting broadcasters across the Western Balkans by providing grants for innovation projects, regional co-production, international mobility and independent investigative media that work with PSMs. In addition, public service media will receive tailored workshops and consultations, as well as take part in innovation labs and specialized conferences. Key beneficiaries are citizens, i.e. overall current and potential audiences, journalists, and policy makers.
