As the official cultural institution of Germany, Goethe-Institut strives to establishing the German language and qualifies teachers around the world. Every year, more than half a million people worldwide take a German exam at the Goethe-Institut. Our language course system comprises of modular German courses for adults at all levels, courses for children and young people.

German Exams

We administer German language exams worldwide for levels A1–C2. Goethe-Institut language certificates are internationally recognized as proof of German language proficiency for academic and professional purposes.

Teaching German

We provide practically oriented training for German language teachers using approaches and formats that have been tried and tested all over the world. We offer both in-person and online training programmes. 

Study in Germany

This website is jointly established by the German Consulate General , the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), and the Goethe-Institut under the framework of the “Study in Germany” Campaign.

PASCH Initiative

The “Schools: Partners for the Future” (PASCH) initiative creates a global network of more than 2,000 PASCH schools with particular ties to Germany.
