You can only book your language test online.

1. Select the exam you wish to take under "German language exams".
2. Book a date that suits you
3. Register and transfer the exam fee once you have received your booking confirmation.

If the exam fee is not paid in time, the exam registration will be invalid and the booking will be automatically cancelled.

 

The Goethe-Institut has introduced the digital certificate from 1 March 2024. From May, the Budapest Institute will issue this document upon successful completion of the exam. Everyone who registers with the Goethe-Institut (meinGoethe.de) will have his/her own account to view and download the digital certificate. A separate e-mail notification will be sent when the certificate is ready. The authenticity of the document can be verified for everyone via the authentication link on the certificate. This document can then be sent to the exam candidates who wish to use it as proof of their language skills. There is no longer any need to validate the paper form or to scan it to send it on.
On request, we will of course continue to issue the paper document to anyone who requests it in writing to pruefungen-budapest@goethe.de

Please pay the examination fee to the account of the examination centre by the deadline for registration.
If the examination fee is not paid into the bank account of the examination centre by the deadline, the application will be invalid and the booking will be automatically cancelled.

The examination fee can be paid by bank transfer. 

When making the transfer, please be sure to include the following information in the Subject field: Name, Customer No., exam location and exam type (e.g. B2).

The system does not send a confirmation of receipt of the examination fee.

Please inform us at the time of making the payment if you need a Hungarian invoice about paying the course fee / exam fee. It is not possible to request an invoice after the course has started / after the exam. Our course fee / exam fee is payable without VAT.

Invoices can only be made out in the names of the course participants or exam participants.       Companies may receive an invoice if they act as third party payers and undertake to pay the fee for the course participant / exam candidate.

Withdrawal from the exam

If you cancel your exam before the application deadline, we will refund your exam fee after deducting an administration fee of HUF 10.000,-. The examination fee paid is non-refundable after the application deadline.
The examination fee paid by a candidate who has applied for an examination but has not appeared for it will be forfeited if the candidate does not make use of the possibility to withdraw from the examination. You may not sit another examination unless you have paid the examination fee again.
It is not possible to cancel an examination once it has begun.
 In all cases, the refund will be credited back to the bank account of the person who paid the examination fee.

Postponing the exam

If you are unable to attend an exam, you may request a postponement of the examination once: you may, on request and subject to a postponement fee (10.000,-HUF), postpone your examination until the examination period following the 5th calendar day preceding the examination at the latest. Send your request online to pruefungen-budapest@goethe.de. Once postponed, the exam cannot be postponed again and the previously paid exam fee cannot be refunded.

In case of illness

If you are unable to attend the exam due to illness, please notify us by email, even / at the latest on the morning of the exam. The examination fee will be credited to the next examination date upon presentation of a medical certificate. The exam will then be considered as postponed and can be cancelled, but the exam fee cannot be refunded.
