Indonesia is in the process of drafting and debating its first data privacy regulation. In this talk, Wahyudi Djafar explains the status quo of the process and which data protection concepts were considered in the draft.
Wahjudi Djafar is a researcher and Deputy Director of Research at the Institute for Policy Research and Advocacy (ELSAM). He focuses on topics such as the right to privacy, freedom of expression, and security sector reform. Wahyudi has also handled many cases of judicial review in the Constitutional Court on issues related to human rights.
He is active in various forums that discuss internet and human rights issues, including the Internet Governance Forum and the Global Conference on Cyber Space.
