Embark on a journey into the enigmatic life of Franz Kafka

Franz Kafka is one of the most significant German-speaking authors of the 20th century. Known for his unique blend of existential angst, surrealism, and ambiguity, Kafka delved into the complexity of human existence while critiquing bureaucracy and systems in his writings.

Despite his reputation as a melancholic writer, Kafka's works never lacked elements of humour and comedy. This inspired illustrator Nicolas Mahler to portray Kafka's life journey in his book Komplett Kafka, published by Suhrkamp Verlag.

In honour of the 100th anniversary of Kafka's death, the Goethe-Institut Jakarta Library will showcase 18 passages from the book Komplett Kafka in an exhibition open to the public.

Visitors can gain a deeper understanding of Kafka and his life story, all while perousing additional literature and film that explore Franz Kafka’s life and body of work.

This exhibition is open to the public, free of charge, and requires no registration. Come visit!
