Online Workshop|Workshop on Game Systems as Political Frameworks
-
Online Online
An online workshop on game systems as policy frameworks will take place 22 April at 6:00 p.m. Lisbon time (7:00 p.m. CET), led by Stella Jacob, multimedia artist and game designer.
Participation without registration Together with multimedia artist and game designer Stella Jacob, we will examine how games can be more than just entertainment - they also reflect and can influence political and social structures. In this workshop, participants learn how game rules and mechanics can represent power structures, justice and community organization. By using accessible tools such as Twine, Bitsy, Godot and Decker - software that allows games to be created without advanced programming knowledge - participants have the opportunity to develop their own experimental games. This is about interactive narratives and decision-making mechanisms in game design.
This workshop is aimed at anyone interested in video games, storytelling and digital design, but also at those who are curious about how technology can be used to rethink and question social organization.
The Art Meets Tech series explores visual art, music, narrative and craft, highlighting technologies such as AI, Web3, Immersive Technologies, Digital Manufacturing and Creative Coding. With predominantly online workshops and hybrid formats, the program offers practical experiences, critical discussions and networking within a diverse European community. It invites you to discover how technology is reshaping art and how art is redefining technology - a dynamic exchange platform for ideas and skills.
