Meet The Author

What do you imagine when you think of South Asia?
I imagine my second home in New Delhi, in Vasant Kunj: The sabzee walla (vegetable vendor), the playgrounds where my daughter plays, the shop where we buy pani puri, the ironing lady, and of course the Badminton court (on which I usually lose against my wife).
When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
I'm not sure whether I ever realized that. I just started writing one day and I'm still doing it. It's one of the things I enjoy most. I can do it everywhere, under most circumstances, and it's something very dear to me.
What do you like to do when you are not writing?
Eating. Reading. Running. Meeting friends from around the world. Thinking about writing. And did I mention eating yet?
Do you believe in writer’s block?
Not really. But I believe that it's sometimes very hard to find out how to tell a story. Still, there's always a way.
Do you have any favorite Indian author?
That's an easy question: my wife, Saskya Jain!
