When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
After I read my first book at age 17.
What do you like to do when you are not writing?
Besides spending time with my family: reading, video games, sport climbing.
Do you believe in writer’s block?
Sure. Although, I guess I've never really experienced it myself. I definitely dislike a lot of the stuff that I write, but that's usually just one more reason to keep going.
Do you have any favourite Indian author?
Admittedly, I haven't read all that much Indian literature. Of the couple of books I've read, I really liked Aravind Adiga's "Between the Assassinations" and Arundhati Roys' "The God of Smalls Things".
Would you say writing energizes or exhausts a writer?
I guess that depends a lot on the stage of the writing process you are currently going through. But generally speaking I'd say: it's rather energizing - at least for me.
