Immediate Thoughts about freedom
The artwork consists of a conglomeration of sentences and live drawings of people, from different streams of life, when asked questions like “What is freedom?” and “Are you free?”.
About the Work
The interviews were conducted in the cities of Delhi, Noida and Bhopal. The people were spotted and engaged with, in the midst of their day, going about their business and their responses were recorded by hand. The artwork attempts to document people in their natural element, with their natural, immediate thoughts about ‘freedom’. The bringing together of all of these points of views, creates a contrast and a confluence. The artwork doesn’t aim to prove anything and the viewer is encouraged to draw their own conclusions, if any.
It may mean something, and nothing at all.
