The registration phase has now ended. We are delighted with the high number of interested students. We regret that not everyone will be able to take part in our trip. A similar trip will be offered again next year.
General Information
After a successful Educational Trip through North Rhine-Westphalia in western Germany in 2023, we are planning a trip again this year for students who are interested in studying in Germany later on.
The 2023 Educational Trip will take place from 19.05 - 26.05.2024 and is aimed at students from the higher classes. This year we are focussing regionally on the south of Germany, specifically Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg.The aim of this trip is to familiarise interested young people from India with Germany as a place to study and work. During the trip to Frankfurt, Heidelberg, Karlsruhe, Freiburg, Salzburg and Munich, the participants will have the opportunity to visit renowned universities, exchange ideas with international students and get to know the country of Germany.
What is the purpose of the trip?
Germany is becoming increasingly popular as a place to study. Especially in India. Over 40,000 Indians are now studying in Germany. Why is that? One of the biggest reasons for the increasing number of international students is the low cost. Most degree programmes in Germany require little or no tuition fees. On the other hand, German universities are characterised by their professionalism and modernity. An academic degree in Germany is highly regarded all over the world.
We are organising this Educational Trip to make young people aware of precisely these advantages of studying in Germany. Participants should gain an authentic insight into student life in Germany and have the opportunity to talk to Indian students about their everyday lives. What does it cost to live in Germany? What does a student do in their free time? How are the universities equipped? What is working life like in Germany? These questions and many more will be answered during the stay in Germany. In addition to visiting schools and universities and socialising with young people, the participants also get to know the country and its culture through sightseeing.
Which cities are part of the trip?
A unique programme has been put together for the one-week Trip in some of the most important locations for studying and working in Germany. The focus in 2024 will be on southern Germany, in particular Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg. These two federal states are not only characterised by a high number of renowned universities and are home to internationally active German companies, they are also unique in terms of culture and tourism.
The following cities will be visited during the study trip:
First Stop Frankfurt
Frankfurt is often referred to as the Gateway to Germany for international travelers, as the main airport can be found here. Not only is Frankfurt very centrally located in the middle of Germany, but it is also the financial capital of Germany and home to the European Central Bank and the German Stock Exchange.
Frankfurt is not only the place of arrival and departure during the study trip. We also want to visit the banking district and gain an insight into one of Germany's most important cities.
Heidelberg is a beautiful city in the German state of Baden-Württemberg, situated right on the river Necker in the south-western part of Germany. The city is home to Germany's oldest university and many other renowned research institutes.
During our stay in the city, we visit Heidelberg University, take a guided tour of the city and visit the famous Heidelberg Castle.
Karlsruhe, one of the largest cities in Baden-Württemberg, is located directly on the Rhine. In this city you will not only find the Federal Constitutional Court and a beautiful palace with extensive palace gardens, but also consistently good weather, as Karlsruhe is one of the warmest regions in Germany.
In Karlsruhe, we mainly want to visit the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), one of the top universities in Germany.
Freiburg is a small but very popular city in Baden Württemberg. It is not only characterised by its location in the famous Black Forest, but is also just a stone's throw away from Switzerland and France. The city is particularly popular with students and young people espcially because of the high standard of living and advanced environmental practices.
In Karlsruhe, we are planning a visit to the Albert-Ludwigs University and an excursion to the Black Forest.
Munich is the capital of the federal state of Bavaria in southern Germany. With more than 1.5 million inhabitants, it is one of the most populous cities in Germany. Munich is of course world-famous for its annual Oktoberfest, but the city has much more to offer. Its proximity to the Alps, unique sights, the best football club in the country and numerous top universities.
During our stay in Munich, we will visit the renowned Technical University, take a look at the Deutsches Museum and explore the sights of the city.
During our trip, we would also like to take a short trip to the neighbouring German-speaking country Austria and visit the city of Salzburg. The birthplace of Mozart is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe and is characterised by its authentic little streets and baroque architecture, making it a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
