Double Bill: Movement Interventions

Bangalore-based artists Ainesh Madan and Dayita Nereyeth present their choreographic intervention in response to/engaging with the thematic of the Critical Zones Exhibition.
The pollution in the National Capital Region (NCR) of India has risen at an alarming rate over the past two years. Delhi uses movement to highlight the tension that defines this crisis.
The work is a collaboration between two artists: Ainesh Madan and Nitant Nair.
Ainesh Madan (he/him) is a dance artist and a co-founder of the 206 Dance Collective. Ainesh attended Bard College (USA) on a full-tuition scholarship, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and Economics. Ainesh is currently in the fourth year of a Continuous Learning Program in the Alexander Technique. He is also training to become a Ceann-Iuil (Pathfinder) in the animist tradition of Sagh’ic-Tire Dhream. Ainesh is also an experienced, multilingual dance teacher, and a freelance content writer.

Dayita Nereyeth is a co-founder of 206 Dance Collective, senior editor for The Clean Copy, and an Alexander Technique teacher based in Bangalore, India. For her work, she draws inspiration from text, music, identity, relationships, and principles of the Alexander Technique. Dayita creates through improvisation and play. She curates movement experiences by pulling from practical realities of the self, exploring the mundane and pedestrian as performative, and contemporising classical forms. Dayita has a BA in Dance and Psychology from Mount Holyoke College. She has performed in India, the USA, and Switzerland, and presented her choreography in India and online.
