A dedicated literature festival for children is what Chennai is yet to have in a grand scale despite its vibrant reading community and popular publishing houses.
Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan Chennai proposes to bridge the gap and create an avenue for children’s Literature Fest in Chennai in the line of what happens already in other cities like Mumbai, Delhi, or Bengaluru.
Objective of the Fest:
- To promote reading and listening among children
- To create an awareness among parents as to what is available in the market for their kids to read
- To invoke a community feeling, celebrating books and its creators
- To instill lifelong learning passion
- To enhance creativity and life skills
- To encourage empathy, diversity and inclusion
- To create a platform to bring together publishers, authors, illustrators and readers
Lit Events:
Storytelling, Film screening, panel discussions, theatre show, workshops, thematic reading room, activity centre, children book exhibition, book sales and food stalls.
