The initiative "Artist in Residence" helped delving into a 2-week intensive experiential learning journey meticulously crafted for students of the Amrutvahini's NIDO International School aged 12 to 15, fostering the development of their artistic skills.

This exclusive initiative provided young talents with the rare opportunity to explore their choreographic interpretations, culminating in a unique presentation of "In C."

The evening promises a sophisticated blend of exploration, collaborative sharing, and mutual support, utilizing dance as an effective pedagogical tool within mainstream education.

10 dancers come together to explore this idea of democracy and community through this visual combination of movements.

The In C – Pune version, spearheaded by the Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan Pune in collaboration with the curator Hrishikesh Pawar (Founder - Centre of Contemporary Dance, Pune), marks a unique celebration of 30 illustrious years of Sasha Waltz & Guests – who has made an indelible mark on the European dance scene through innovative choreography and avant-garde performances. 

The genesis of "In C – Pune version" took root in a dialogue between choreographer Sasha Waltz and Hrishikesh Pawar in 2021. United by shared sensibilities, the two artists envisioned a collaborative effort to unite individuals from diverse communities through dance, providing a medium for introspection and expression. 

The choreographic journey has not only granted opportunities for interpretation but also provided a platform for staging a unique rendition of "In C," offering a space for exploration, sharing, and mutual support.

In an exquisite collaboration, participants from our esteemed "Dance For Parkinson" Program, predominantly comprising senior citizens, join forces with our seasoned dancers to delve into the intricacies of the choreographic masterpiece, "In C."

This exploration is not merely a confluence of movements; rather, it is a profound endeavor to encapsulate cross-generational visuals of moving bodies—melding the grace of the seasoned with the vitality of youth. The significance lies not only in the artistry but in challenging preconceived notions of "aesthetics," daring to transcend conventional expectations.

This venture aims to dismantle the confines of what is traditionally perceived as beautiful and redefine the boundaries of artistic expression.

The Sasha Waltz & Guests is Berlin’s most important institution for contemporary dance, and has become known for its grand productions and phenomenal choreographic works in empty spaces. Stage elements and spatial design contribute to lending expression to the choreographies of a unique, artistic approach and form. On the occasion of 30 Years of Sasha Waltz & Guests, we bring this uniquely curated exhibition based on Engage | Experience | Evolve

Apart from the 30 years long and fruitful career of Sasha Waltz, the exhibition gives us a possibility to dive into her artist process, profound projects like Dialogue, Zu Hoeren and her vision to have a better future through the Children's Dance Company and the In C Project. 

The occasion also is to present her work in an entirely new context especially in Pune for the very active dance community. Embedded in the context of the museum, this exhibition offers audiences the unique opportunity to experience the visual-aesthetic dimension of the choreographic works by Sasha Waltz. 

During the entire duration of the exhibition there will be engaging workshops offered to various groups of individuals, giving them a small taste to Engage | Experience | Evolve!
