Public Art and Public Libraries - Virtual Tours at City Scripts 2021
We are delighted to participate in the sixth edition of the annual urban writings festival City Scripts, organised by the Indian Institute for Human Settlements (IIHS). City Scripts uses literature, art, theatre and sensorial experiences to start and expand conversations about our cities.
We present two virtual tours this year! A walkthrough of the Cologne Public Library conducted by its director, Dr Hannelore Vogt. And German artist and former bangaloREsident Gábor Doleviczényi will take audiences on an exploratory tour of public street art in Essen, Germany and interact LIVE with the audience questions thereafter.
Sunday February 28, 2021 3.00 - 4.00 p.m. IST

They are the pioneers of participatory offerings and digital services ( like the first Makerspace in a German library, STEM Storytime Volunteers, virtual reality courses or "Science Slams" ) In 2015 the Cologne Public Library was awarded the distinction "Library of the Year" for its groundbreaking strategic work.

In a recorded video, Gabor provides an overview of how street art/graffiti can appear in public spaces. Beginning with the smallest "tag", the signature, the video works its way up to eleborate murals, as he lists the different methods and approaches. He also touches on the approval (or disapproval) with which the interventions are met - which is absolutely of secondary importance to him!
The virtual tour will be followed by a live video conversation between Gabor and the Festival audience, answering questions and discussing impressions of the art presented.

Always in the mood for adventure, he see the urban spaces of the big city as a playground for endless possibilities. Dynamic and beautiful, they are an expression of his attitude to life and take the adventures of the big city into the exhibition space.
Catch these sessions from anywhere in the world live on Zoom, Facebook and YouTube from February 28, 2021.
