Techno Worlds - The Preview

An exhibition on techno music initiated by Goethe-Institut, curated by Mathilde Weh, Justin Hoffmann, Creamcake and presented in Kolkata by Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan Kolkata in collaboration with TRI.

The evening will include a performance by Hybrid Protokol from 7:30 pm.

Hybrid Protokol - Live Electronica Set

Electronic Music Duo Hybrid Protokol, will be playing and performing an "ALL ORIGINAL & ALL LIVE Electronic Music Set" straight from their wide array of Electronic Music Machines ranging from Drum Machines to Samplers to Software Synths. The style of the Music to be played/performed LIVE hovers around the genres of Progressive Techno, Acid & Breakbeat Electronica – but with their own original touch. The collection of sounds & music, even though conceptualised and programmed on the said machines beforehand, will be triggered & played LIVE. The performance will be that of a spontaneous nature – like how a musician plays with his/her musical instrument(s). 

This programme is by invitation only and is not open to all.

The exhibition will be on view publicly from 24 November 2024 onwards from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm daily (except Mondays and public holidays).

About Hybrid Protokol

Hybrid Protokol have been purveyors of Live Electronic Music since their inception. Leaning heavily on analog hardware to create all their music and putting on live shows that are 100% Live — they’ve stuck to their guns and have been through thick and thin — trying to carve a space for themselves on the Indian circuit. Recently they have made music for Feature Films, collaborated with Contemporary Dancers and have also played the first Boiler Room in Kolkata.

Soumajit

Having a strong background in North Indian Classical Music, he has been practicing and performing for over sixteen years. Over the years, his focus shifted towards the synthesizer, a passion he discovered later and embraced wholeheartedly.

Aneesh

A national award-winning sound designer by the day, Aneesh's musicality developed at a young age when he began learning to play the tabla. Electronic music entered his life during his college days, which is when he began fiddling around with music programming softwares in his spare time.
