Social Media Coordinator

Employment Scope 50%

We are looking for a committed colleague to join us as Social Media Coordinator for One year from 15.01.2025 till 14.01.2026 with a working hours of 20 hours per week with the possibility of extending the Contract further based on the performance.

The Remuneration according to the local compensation scheme of the Goethe-Institutes in India.

The Goethe-Institut e.V. is an intermediary organization of the Federal Republic of Germany, with goals that include promoting the knowledge of the German language abroad, fostering international cultural cooperation, and conveying a comprehensive image of Germany through information about its cultural, social, and political life. In India known as Max Mueller Bhavan in memory of the German Indologist – F. Max Mueller.


Responsibilities primarily include the following tasks.
  • Page management (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube)
  • Social media planning and calendar maintenance
  • Promotion of events, projects and activities
  • Short videos or reels creation (i.e. Mini Video production)
  • Instagram storying for engagement; and LIVE updates
  • Social media poster designing
  • Designing for various other formats, prints and offline use
  • Coordinating with all the departments for posting the Contents in all the Social Media Networks
  • Coordinating advertising if required
  • Attending Social Media Meetings in the Institut and producing monthly reports
  • Representing the Institut as Social Media Representatives i.e. attending regular meetings conducted by the Regional Institut - both online and offline.
Requirements
  • Advanced Knowledge in Social Media Networks - Facebook, Instagram, YouTube etc.
  • Profound knowledge of computer applications
  • Profound knowledge in Photoshop, Meta and Canva Software
  • Knowledge of English and Tamil
  • Willingness to learn German
  • High initiative, flexibility and ability to work in a team environment
  • Willingness to work during irregular hours (compensatory off given)
  • Pleasing nature to mingle with the staff and crowd
