The Goethe-Institut marks the 200th birth anniversary of the eminent philologist Friedrich Max Mueller on December 6, 2023. This occasion is dedicated to observing the profound contributions of Max Mueller, one of the pivotal figures of Indology, whose inter-cultural sympathies and understanding have left an indelible mark on the intellectual landscape.

An artistic installation by Katja Davar at the staircase of Goethe-Institut Kolkata. In the main stairwell, a seventeen metre long textile work digitally collaged from Davar’s pencil drawings of clouds, cascades through the building.

An art project including artistic interventions in the public domain, developed by visual artist Sumantra Mukherjee. 

In 2021, for the first time, the residency was organised on a digital platform, thus ensuring that the residency takes place notwithstanding the prevailing COVID situation.

A project on the occasion of the 250th birth anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven initiated by Goethe-Institut.

The Goethe-Institutes in Kolkata and Dhaka presented the five months project "Inherited Memories". It focused on inherited memories of the third generation post partition.
