The Goethe-Institut is looking for a full time (40 Hours / week) committed employee from 02.12.2024 till 15.05.2025
The Goethe-Institut is the Federal Republic of Germany’s cultural institute, active worldwide whose aims are to promote knowledge of the German language abroad, to foster international cultural cooperation and to convey a comprehensive image of Germany by providing information on cultural, social, and political life.

Project Planning and Coordination: Oversee the project timeline, ensuring that all milestones are met from preparation through the event’s conclusion. Coordinate closely with Goethe-Institut teams and local partners to ensure alignment on goals and execution.
- Event and Logistics Management: Coordinate and manage all logistics for the German pavilion, including setup, event schedules, and materials distribution. This includes working with vendors, venue teams, and staff to ensure a smooth and professional setup.
- Stakeholder Communication and Liaison: Serve as the primary contact between the Goethe-Institut and other stakeholders, ensuring clear and timely communication. Facilitate the needs of international participants, including authors and cultural professionals from Germany.
- Promotion and Audience Engagement: Work with the Goethe-Institut’s communication teams to promote events to local audiences and media. Develop engagement strategies for different event formats (e.g., panel discussions, workshops, readings) to reach diverse audiences.
- On-Site Event Supervision: Oversee daily operations at the German pavilion, ensuring events to run smoothly and addressing any issues that arise. Coordinate with volunteers and team to manage event flow and provide support for speakers and attendees.
- Documentation and Reporting: Document event highlights and outcomes for post-event reporting. Collect feedback and insights to inform future Goethe-Institut projects and initiatives.
- Experience in Project Management and Event Coordination.
- At least 3 years of experience in event management, project coordination, or a similar role, preferably within cultural or literary sectors.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate complex schedules, manage logistics, and maintain clear communication with diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of PR and Audience Engagement.
- Familiarity with promoting events, engaging audiences, and supporting public relations initiatives for cultural or literary events.
- Interest in Cultural Exchange and Literary Arts.
- A genuine interest in culture and literature as well as fostering intercultural understanding.
- Good to very good knowledge of written and spoken English, Hindi and Bengali.
- German language skills optional.
- Very good knowledge and use of MS Word, Outlook and Excel.
- Good organisational and coordination skills.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Completed university bachelor’s degree or comparable qualification.
