It is with profound sorrow that we bid farewell to Mr. Noshir Daruwalla, who served as the head of administration at Max Mueller Bhavan Mumbai for more than 29 years. Noshir was more than just a colleague; he was friend, and a guiding presence to all who had the privilege of working with him.

For many years, Noshir dedicated himself to the smooth operation of Max Mueller Bhavan Mumbai, ensuring that every detail was carefully managed. His commitment to excellence was central to the success of the institution. But it wasn’t just his work that made Noshir so special—it was his kindness, his positivity, his humor, and his ability to make everyone feel welcome and valued.

Mr. Daruwala was an avid music, art and film connoisseur - apart from his masterly administrative and financial management skills, he regularly designed and spearheaded many cultural events representing German cultural heritage.

I had the personal privilege of knowing Noshir since 1985, when I was a trainee at Max Mueller Bhavan Mumbai. From that moment, our friendship blossomed, and we never lost touch. Over the years, Noshir became more than a colleague; he became a dear friend. His warmth, support, and understanding have meant the world to me, and I am forever grateful for the bond we shared. Many years later, during my six years serving as director of Max Mueller Bhavan Mumbai, Noshir had already retired, but he remained to be a constant source of support and guidance. His experience and steadfast commitment to the institution were invaluable to me.

I also want to extend our deepest condolences to Noshir's family. Noshir cared deeply for them, and their love and support were central to his life. He will be dearly missed by his family, and we share in their sorrow as they navigate this profound loss. Our thoughts and hearts are with his family during this difficult time.

Though we grieve the loss of such an extraordinary person, we also celebrate the incredible impact he had on many. Noshir leaves behind a legacy of dedication, friendship, and kindness that will continue to resonate with us. We are grateful for the years of service, the memories, and the countless moments of joy he shared with us.

To Noshir, our dear friend and cherished colleague—your spirit and your friendship will never be forgotten. You will remain forever in our hearts, and your legacy will live on in the work you so lovingly contributed to and the friendships you so generously nurtured.

With deepest sympathy,
