Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan New Delhi is looking looking for translators to work on its AMIF sponsored Pre-Integration Project, on a freelance basis. The Goethe-Institut is relaunching its renowned “Mein Weg Nach Deutschland” website as part of its Pre-integration Project, aimed at providing comprehensive information and support to individuals preparing to move to Germany. This initiative is designed to ease the integration process for new immigrants by offering resources in multiple languages.
The Goethe-Institut e.V. is the worldwide cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany. We promote the study of the German language abroad and actively foster international cultural cooperation. Further, our mission is to convey a comprehensive image of Germany through information about its cultural, social and political life.
1. We are seeking experienced translators to assist in translating the website’s content from German into
- English,
- Hindi,
- Marathi, and
- Malayalam.
2. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in translation and localization, with a keen understanding of both cultural and linguistic nuances.
YOUR TASKS:
- Translate website content from German into one or more of the languages listed below:
- English, Hindi, Marathi, and Malayalam.
- Ensure the accuracy, clarity, and cultural relevance of translations.
- Collaborate with the project lead and other team members to meet deadlines and maintain consistency.
- Review and revise translations based on feedback and quality checks.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience in translating between German and any one or more of the target languages (English, Hindi, Marathi, Malayalam).
- Strong command of both source and target languages, with a deep understanding of cultural contexts.
- Experience with website content and localization preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work
- Ability to work within set deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
