The Goethe-Institut e. V. is the worldwide cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany. We promote the learning of the German language abroad and perpetuate international cultural cooperation. Moreover, we strive to paint a realistic picture of Germany through information about the cultural, societal and political life.
In the new project “Living and Working in Germany” of the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) of the European Union, we support East Africans who are moving permanently to Germany to work there. We provide vital information and networks to facilitate the migration process. The integration begins in the country of origin. Our countries of focus are Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi. The program seeks to translate content for our web presence.
To translate short web articles for the AMIF-Programme (approx 35,000 words)we are looking for: experienced transators: German - Kiswahili
Jan –2025 with possibility of reappointment for future tasks
Your profile:
- Bachelor‘s degree in German Studies/ Kiswahili Studies/ Translation Studies
- Proven experience of at least 2 years in translation
- German C2 or native speaker
- Kiswahili native speaker
- Excellent written communication in German and Swahili
- Keen attention to detail and can work error-free
