COLOMBO PRIDE
(c) Colombo Pride

Goethe Hall

The Goethe-Institut supports human and political rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transsexual people in Sri Lanka. From June 15 to 25, the “Colombo Pride 2017”, organized by EQUAL GROUND, will take place in Colombo. As cultural partner, we support the pride with film contributions from the Berlinale Teddy Awards 2016, and by hosting some of the events at the Goethe-Institut.

On June 16, from 6 PM onwards, the “Rainbow Music and Dance Festival” featuring dancing, singing and solo performances by the LGBT community will take place at the Goethe-Institut. From June 18 to 22, LGBT themed movies from around the world will be screened at the “LGBT Film Festival” from 6 PM onwards at the Goethe Hall. “Rainbow Visions” – Art and Photos by LGBT persons and allies – can be seen at the Goethe-Institut from June 19 to 22, from 10 AM to 6 PM. On June 23, at 4 PM, “Idea Junction” will take place at the Goethe-Institut, a meeting intended to inform and discuss issues around sexual orientation, as well as finding ways to innovatively support the LGBT community.
