Project Officer in the Initiative Schools: Partners for the Future (PASCH) (Local Contract)

at the Goethe-Institut Sri Lanka with a full-time position (40 hours/week), remuneration according to the local salary scale.

The Goethe-Institut is seeking a dedicated employee starting from January 1, 2025, or later.

As Project Officer in the initiative schools: Partner der Zukunft (PASCH), your responsibilities, in coordination with the education expert, primarily include:

  • Participation in implementing the PASCH strategy for South Asia
  • Support and guidance for German teachers and school principals of PASCH schools in the region
  • Organization, execution, and documentation of youth camps, conferences, training sessions, competitions, and other activities for partner schools in the PASCH initiative of the Goethe-Institut Sri Lanka
  • Conducting school visits, observations, team-teaching including relevant documentation at PASCH schools in the region
  • Planning and management of the PASCH scholarship program for Sri Lanka based on needs-oriented training planning
  • Reporting and project-related budget management (planning and controlling) for PASCH schools in the region
  • Management of addresses and statistical data, documentation, and archiving for PASCH, including data research and preparation of information for various queries and reports for PASCH schools in the region
  • General office duties
  • Email correspondence and general written communication in German and English
  • Processing of applications, creation of statistics and reports as per guidelines
    Maintenance of archives
Requirements:
  • Strong communication skills
  • Very good knowledge of English, both spoken and written
  • German proficiency at level B2
  • Teaching experience and experience in the public school sector preferred
  • Very good knowledge and handling of MS Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Knowledge in social media management, Photoshop, or Adobe InDesign desirable
  • Willingness to familiarize oneself with the systems of the Goethe-Institut
  • Good organizational and coordination skills
  • Strong team and communication skills
  • High resilience
  • Willingness to travel within the region and work on weekends
  • Completed university degree
