Step into the magical world of illustrated children’s books at the Bangkok Children’s Picture Book Festival
Join us for a puppet show based on the German Children’s book ‘Schreimutter’ (Angry Mommy) by Jutta Bauer. The book was translated into Thai and tells the story of a young penguin whose mother yells at him so loudly that he falls to pieces. The mother penguin then has to travel the world as she tries to reassemble the scattered pieces. In the process, the book explores the mother-child relationship and how emotions it provokes are perceived.
The show is designed and presented as a puppet theatre by puppet-master Sirikarn Bunjongtad, or ‘Puppets by Jae’.
Neelacha Fuangfookiat will be the puppeteer for the show. Neelacha, or Kru Bird Kidjam, is a storyteller and theater producer specializing in performances for children and families.
Music will be provided by the musician, sound designer and animator Wardphan Diloksambandh, also known by his moniker Jak Klowerº.
There will be two opportunities to enjoy the show.
