A bombing in Frankfurt has reverberations throughout the city, setting into motion a chain of events with far-reaching political and personal consequences. Conservative politician Mathilda has been a staunch advocate for strict EU border controls to limit migrant populations. But then her close friend and artist Richard asks her to hide a young Moroccan, Malik, who has entered the EU illegally. Her ideological and private loyalties collide. When Malik is unjustly identified as a suspect in the bombing, Mathilda’s aide Amina, who finally wants to leave her Moroccan roots behind, begins to question her own allegiances.
An emotional political thriller starring Barbara Sukowa and Lambert Wilson.
