Sound Scene: Sam Auinger “Perform the Building”
As part of the interactive audio art installation Sound Scene: Mapping Memory, organized by the DC Listening Lounge and the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Berlin-based sound artist Sam Auinger will lead the workshop “Perform the Building.
In this workshop, Auinger will guide workshop participants in an architectural listening exploration to practice thinking with your ears, noting the link between sound and memory. Together you'll examine all the audible acoustic effects and different auditory qualities in and around the Hirshhorn building. By reflecting on the process you can create a listening site map of the Smithsonian Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden.

*Each Perform the Building workshop will be capped at 25 people. Participation will be on a first come, first served basis.
