Description

German for Little Explorers is an extracurricular CLIL course for elementary school.

The course is designed for the target group of elementary school children (4th grade) with or without knowledge of German. With the help of the German language, the elementary school students explore and discover the world. They learn about the properties of air, water, light and sound. Thus, the course has a propaedeutic function: It is intended to promote the students' interest in scientific knowledge and to lay the foundations for scientific thinking and learning.

The children "take a closer look" at phenomena from everyday life that they hadn't even thought about before, because it was so clear to them that air, for example, weighs nothing.
In each unit, students hypothesize about a research question and test it in an experiment. The results are formulated in a conclusion.

Through this interdisciplinary way of working and learning, both in groups and independently, the little explorers acquire important skills that enable them to think, act and learn autonomously.
