The intricate web of human interactions and their impacts is the essence of ‘Ripple Effects’, a group exhibition showcasing 23 artists shortlisted for the Colours of Humanity Arts Prize 2024, co-organised by Goethe-Institut Hongkong and the European Union Office to Hong Kong and Macao.

Through a citywide open call, local artists with diverse backgrounds explore themes of inclusion, diversity, and equity, offering a vibrant exploration of what it means to be human in an interconnected world.

Through a multitude of perspectives and experiences, each artwork starts with a small gesture that reverberates into something larger. From restful and social gestures like sewing, cooking, dancing, to flat-hunting and house renovation, these artworks set to challenge norms, spark conversations, and raise questions about societal complexities.

Whether it be a moment of personal inquiry or memories of communal encounters, the artworks mirror the ubiquitous truth that every action, no matter how fleeting, can set in motion an infinite chain of reactions, braiding a hopeful narrative in our adaptive communities.
