Special Arrangement in case of suspension of language courses and examinations

In the event of short-noticed suspension of language courses and examinations due to unforeseen external circumstances (other than typhoons), such as any threat to public health, safety, and order or massive disruptions in public transportation, the Goethe-Institut will apply the following special arrangements for currently enrolled students:
Notification of the short-term suspension of language courses and examinations and the entry into force of this special regulation will be made on our website (home page).
The information about the suspension of courses will be published at the following times:
Morning courses (10:00am): will be suspended in the evening of the previous day if the assessment of the situation makes this necessary
Lunchtime courses (12:30pm): until 11:00am of the course day
Afternoon courses (2:30pm): until 11:00am of the course day
Evening classes (6:30pm): by 4:00pm of the course day at the latest
Courses for children and young people: until 11:00am on the course day
Please check our website regularly for current updates.
The Goethe-Institut will make every effort to offer students whose classes have been suspended a make-up class.
If there is no possibility for a make-up class, we will offer an online learning lesson for your course at the regular course time. You will find all the information in the online classroom of your respective course on the Moodle learning platform. Please check the login information for the online classroom, which you received by email at the beginning of the course. In addition, we recommend that you take advantage of our regular offer of free one-on-one advisory sessions so that you can efficiently make up for missed lessons. To make an appointment, please contact our language course office by e-mail: german-hongkong@goethe.de
Please understand that if you cannot make use of any of the options offered by Goethe-Institut, we cannot refund any course fees when this special arrangement is in force.
In the event of suspension of examinations, affected students will be immediately offered a new examination date. Previous registration remains valid, and it is not necessary to register again for a new examination date.
