Grassroots Future is delighted to announce the launch of our publication, Table of Two Cities: Untold Stories of Refugees in Hong Kong.
Table of Two Cities started as a community project in Hong Kong in late 2016, providing a platform to refugees and asylum seekers in the city to showcase their stories and culture through the medium of food. This bilingual English and Chinese publication took over 7 years to compile with volunteers from different walks of life in Hong Kong and is a testament to the resilience of refugees in the city and the power of meals to bring two sides of the city across one table.
This publication is full colour and 210 pages, containing 14 interviews across 5 regions and 32 recipes shed insight to the cultures that make up the refugee and asylum seeker community in Hong Kong. Proceeds from each copy of the book will be used to support those interviewed in the book and the refugee organisation community partners, as well as the work of registered charity Grassroots Future.
