What did you learn from the other participants?

I am extremely glad I was able to participate in this program during a tumultuous year. Cooped up indoors during multiple lockdowns, I was able to understand and learn from Indigenous grassroots movements in various corners of the world, from Egypt to India to Argentina and beyond. As the world reopens, the knowledge I have acquired through this program will continue to inspire and guide me in the years to come.

What aspect have you found most challenging during the process so far?

Needless to say, working remotely during a raging pandemic has been the most challenging. My part of the world experienced a second and third wave of the pandemic far worse than the first, and it was challenging carrying out research and reporting while worrying about one’s physical and mental health.

What should ideally happen after the project’s publication?

I am hoping Movements and Moments serves as a source of inspiration for activists and human rights defenders across the world.
