11 AM–3 PM (Sunday)
Equipped with VR headsets, participants actively engage in the narrative: They sign a pact with Mephisto, travel to a witch’s kitchen, meet Gretchen, and unravel the essence of the story. This immersive, literary journey unfolds through seven emotional scenes, staying true to the original text while integrating elements of Goethe’s language.
The result is a virtual world that captures the mood and substance of the literary work, allowing players to explore literary themes in a visually engaging way. The aim is to introduce participants to the characters, conflicts, and key motifs of Goethe’s work, while also sharing interesting insights about the author and his creative process.
Alongside GoetheVR, visitors can enjoy supporting information provided by selected experts in various media.
GoetheVR is available in nine languages with interchangeable subtitles, including Indonesian, German, and English. The experience lasts approximately 15 minutes and is suitable for ages 14 and up. Group visits must be scheduled in advance by contacting: info-jakarta@goethe.de
