Seminar on copyrights and open licenses.

The “Retas Budaya” online-seminar series presents practical information on how GLAM institutions (galleries, libraries, archives, museums) can use digital technology to make their cultural collections open access while encouraging reuse by visitors.

In the fourth edition of this online seminar, we invite Ari Juliano Gema as the Expert Staff of the Minister for Bureaucratic Reform and Regulation of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy. He who is also a former Chief of Legal Creative Commons Indonesia together with Bhredipta Socarana (Creatice Commons Indonesia) will explore common copyrights issues that GLAM institution faced.

What legal aspects must be considered before a collection can be open access? How do you determine the copyright status of a collection or choose the right license? Why should public domain collections be open access? All questions regarding copyrights that need to be known before employing open access policies will be answered in this online seminar series.

This program is a cooperation between the Directorate General of Culture, Wikimedia Indonesia, the Indonesian Game Association, PT Elex Media Komputindo, and Goethe-Institut Indonesien.
