At the beginning of 2007, Urs Widmer gave these five talks as part of the Frankfurt Poetics Lectures. In them, he presents himself as a relaxed narrator with a passion, he deals with the literature scene, great literary figures, and his own work. Deviations from the norm, the attempt to find one’s own unencumbered language, fantasy, megalomania, memory, death and life, and the myth of Oedipus are central themes.
