Navid Kermani

(born 27.11.1967 in Siegen), Author

Navid Kermani studied Oriental Studies, Philosophy and Theatre Studies in Cologne, Cairo and Bonn and worked as a newspaper journalist. After completing his PhD and post-doctoral thesis in Oriental Studies, he worked as a guest lecturer at various universities and as a crisis reporter for Spiegel magazine. After his dissertation on God Is Beautiful: The Aesthetic Experience of the Quran (1999), the book Iran: Die Revolution der Kinder was published in 2000. Numerous other works followed, for which he was awarded the Hannah Arendt Prize, the Kleist Prize and the Peace Prize of the German Book Trade. Navid Kermani lives in Cologne.
