Peter Pannke

(born 1946 in Korbach), author, musician, producer

After studying Indology, Sinology and comparative religion and musicology, Peter Pannke travelled the world for many years. He is the vocalist and musician of the band "Troubadours United", has released CDs, written for television and print media, and curated festivals with Indian and Pakistani music. He published his first book "Troubadoure Allahs – Sufimusik im Industal" ("Troubadours of Allah - Sufi Music in the Indus Valley" - out-of-print audio book) in 1999, followed by the India report "Singers Die Twice - A Journey to the Land of Dhrupad" ("Sänger müssen zweimal sterben – eine Reise ins unerhörte Indien"). He was awarded the Rabindranath Tagore Prize in 2009.
