Dietmar Dath

(born 03.04.1970 in Rheinfelden), author, journalist, translator

Dietmar Dath studied physics and literature. He has been publishing journalistic articles and translating novels from English since the 1990s. He was editor-in-chief of the magazine "Spex" and feature editor of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. His debut „Cordula killt Dich oder wir sind doch nicht die Nemesis von jedem Pfeifenheini. Roman der Auferstehung“ (i.e Cordula will kill you, or: we won't be the nemesis of every dude with a whistle, a novel of resurrection) was published in 1995. His novel "Die Abschaffung der Arten" ("The abolition of species", trans. by Samuel P. Willcocks London: Seagull Books) was shortlisted for the German Book Prize. Dietmar Dath also writes under various pseudonyms. He lives in Freiburg and Frankfurt am Main.
